Examination TextElizabeth Grundy aged 65 years and upwards lodging at Mr Leopard's a Butcher in that part of James Street in Long Acre which is in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Evan Grundy (who died about two years ago) to whom she was married at Corke in Ireland the 20th Day of October 1730, that her said husband was an Upholsterer by trade and lived in and rented an house the corner of Langley Street in Long Acre in the Parish aforesaid for the space of eight years at the yearly rent of 27 pounds besides taxes, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes after he quitted the abovesaid house in Long Acre, that this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband. Sworn the 30th Day of June 1768 before Peter Planck.
