Examination Text | Thomas Johnson aged about 26 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he never was bound an apprentice, that he was a yearly hired servant to Mr Arnot a Leather Seller in that part of Great Newport Street which is in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one year and an half all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about eight years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the sixth Day of January 1772. |
