Examination TextElizabeth Dufort aged 66 years and upwards lodging at Mrs Brown's in Feathers Court near Turn Stile in Holborn upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Dufort (who died six years ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet about 44 years ago, that her said husband was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to John Garrett a Shoemaker in that part of Bear Street which is in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master about five years as she this Examinant hath been informed, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together after he quitted the said John Garrett's service to this Examinant's knowledge, that she this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband, that she hath one son living by her said husband to wit Joseph aged 35 years, that her son never was bound apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together. Sworn the 13th Day of February 1772 before J. Treslove.
