Examination Text | Sarah Whisson aged about 61 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Thomas Whisson (who died about 21 years ago), that since the death of her said husband (having no child living but what had gained a settlement) she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Fleming a Shoemaker in Old Round Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one year and eight months at the yearly wages of four Guineas diet and lodging, quitted the same about six years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse this 23rd Day of September 1771. |
