Examination TextAnn Watson aged 29 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Sepulchre London upon her oath saith that she is the wife of George Watson (gone from her) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Clement Danes in April 1769, that her said husband is a Book Binder by trade but where he learnt the same she this Examinant cannot tell, that she hath been informed that her said husband was born in the County of Lancaster but the particular part she cannot tell, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge, that she this Examinant before her intermarriage to her said husband and while single and unmarried was a yearly hired servant to Mr Morris, dealer in ribbons &c. near Cecil Street in the Strand in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of four years at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since she quitted the said Mr Morris's service. Taken in the workhouse the third Day of June 1771.
