Examination TextThe Examination of Elizabeth Porter lodging in Kings Court in Russell Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 10th day of March 1774. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 31 years of age and upwards, that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Norman a Victualler at the sign of the Feathers in Charles Court in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid for the space of one year and an half all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 4 pounds 10 shillings diet and lodging, that she quitted the said service about 14 years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the day and year first above written before Thomas Kynaston.
