Examination Text | Martha Dowler aged about 33 years destitute of lodging upon her oath saith that she is the wife of James Dowler (now in the Marshalsea Prison for debt) to whom she was married at Plymouth Old Church the 14th September 1762, that her said husband is a Buckle Maker by trade and lived in and rented two houses in Marygold Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of near two years at the yearly rent of 20 pounds besides taxes, quitted the said house about nine months ago, that her said husband hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since. Sworn the fifth day of October 1773 before Thomas Kynaston. |
