Examination TextAbigail Potts removed by an order of two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace from the Parish of St. Mary White Chapel in the County of Middlesex to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the same county taken this [blank] Day of [blank] in the year 1778. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 44 years of age, that she is the wife of James Potts (gone from her) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Leonard Shoreditch the first Day of September in year 1771, that her said husband hath informed this Examinant that he was while single and unmarried a yearly hired servant in the capacity of a Valet to [blank] Quarine Esq in Scotland Yard in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one whole year at the yearly wages of [blank] pounds diet and lodging, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since he quitted the said blank Quarine Esq's service to this Examinant's knowledge. Sworn the [blank] Day of [blank] 1778 before [blank].
