Examination Text | Daniel Nichols aged about 63 years passed from the Liberty of Saffron Hill, Hatton Gardens and Ely Rents in the Parish of St Andrew Holborn in the County of Middlesex to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the same county upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Matthew Hatton a Cordwainer in Theatre Court (now Russell Court) in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master all the said time out which expired about 42 years ago, that he this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 10th day of January 1777 before John Hale. |
