Examination TextThe Examination of Sarah Bryant a Rogue and Vagabond apprehended by William Mitchell one of the Bedels of the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the Liberty of Westminster the County of Middlesex and brought before me one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the Liberty of Westminster aforesaid, and taken this seventh Day of March in the year of our Lord 1776. This examinant on her oath saith that she is 55 years of age, that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to the Rev. Mr Dorset in the Cloysters in the City of Chichester for the space of one whole year and upwards all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 3 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 12 years ago. That she hath not done any act to gain a subsequent settlement. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before Thomas Bullard.
