Examination TextThe Examination of William Bennett in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this [blank] Day of [blank] 1776. This Examinant on his oath saith that he is 50 years of age, that he hath been informed and verily believes that he was born in Hedge Lane in the Parish aforesaid, that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that he this Examinant cannot tell where his father was born nor never that he kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge.
