Examination TextAnn Brownsworth aged about 49 years lodging at Mr. Wilson?s a Victualler at the sign of the Bear and Ragged staff that corner of Bear Street which is the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, Upon her Oath saith That she is the Wife of Thomas Brownsworth (if alive at New York) to whom she was Married at the Parish church of St Anne, Westmr. about twenty ffive years ago, That her said Husband is a Butcher by Trade and lived in and Rented an House the Corner of White Hart Court in Castle Street in the parish aforesaid for the space of about One Year at the Yearly Rent of Thirty Seven Pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about ten years ago, that her said husband hath not kept house or rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes since to her knowledge. Sworn the 18th Day of November 1779, Before William Hyde.
