| Examination Text | The Examination of Ann Christian now servant to Mr. Judson Woollen draper in Mays Buildings in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, Taken this First Day of September in the year 1778. This Examinant on hear Oath saith that she is 20 years of age, That she never was Married, That she was on the Eighteenth Day of April last delivered at a House let out in Tenements in Off Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields of a Female Bastard Child (since Christened Ann) yet living and is become chargeable to the said parish of st Marin in the Fields, And that Edward Johnson a Bookseller on Ludgate Hill Did beget on her Body the said Female Bastard Child, And that he the said Edward Johnson is the true and only father thereof And no man else.
