Examination TextElizabeth Hornsby aged 16 years & upwards upon her Oath saith That she never was married nor bound an apprentice, That she was a yearly hired servant to Mrs. Hart a Victualler at the sign of the three Jolly Water men in Charles Court in the strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of One year and three months all at one time at the yearly wages of fifty shillings for six months of the said time and three pounds a year for the remainder of the said time, diet and lodging quitted the same about two years and an half ago, That she never kept house rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes nor been a yearly hired Servant in any one place for twelve months together since. Sworn the 1st Day of August 1782 Before William Hyde. NB Enquired of Mr. Hart who declares that she did hire her as a yearly servt. and that she lived 1 1/2 yr. under one hiring, altho' I have my doubts of the truth of this, Octr. 16/92, F. Lemage.
