Examination TextHugh Mullins aged near nineteen years (in the workhouse) Saith he never was bound by Indenture an Apprentice that he was a Servant to Captain Stewart on Board the Devonshire Man of War whom he served on board the said Ship two years and an half that he was discharged from the said Ship and Service within a week after she came into the River that he had three pounds yearly wages Diet and Lodging on board the Said Ship but never elsewhere and that he never was hired by the year except since that his ffather William Mullins was a Carpenter and Joiner and served his time with or work't as a journeyman with one Mr Rice in Hewits Court in the Strand Saith that he this Examinant was born in Shandois Street in the parish of St Martin in the ffields and that he was a yearly hired Servant to Mr Thomas Parr in Church Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the ffields whom he served at his Stables in Moors Yard two years and had ffive pounds yearly wages and Diet and Lodging in the said Mr Parr's House in Church Court aforesaid that he came thence six years ago and thence went to Sea with Captn Stewart as aforesaid
