Examination TextMatthew King aged twenty four years in April next lodging at one Mr Comptons in Little Suffolk Street in this Parish where he hath lodged four months Saith he is a Bitmar by Trade and was bound an Apprentice by Indenture for seven years to one Thomas Weatherhead who lived at Apthorfe in Northamptonshire whom he served there all the Time and then came up to London and was articled for two Years to Mr Kendall a Bitmaker in St Martins Lane and was to have had Six Pounds for the first and ten pounds for the Second Year wages besides Meat Drink Washing and Lodging in the House of the said Mr Kendall and that his Master dyed after he had served him about half a year from the Date of the Articles and he served about three months more to his Master's Widow who left off Trade about the beginning of July last and that he hath work't since with Mrs Hooke in the meuse that he never was marryed never kept House rented ten pounds by the year or paid an Parish Taxes Sworn the 23d Day of February 1736 Before Val: Hilder Matthew King
