Examination TextThe Examination of Amey how Singlewoman Taken upon Oath this 20th Day of August one Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty Six Who upon her Oath Saith she is about Thirty two years of age now in the Workhouse in the parish of St Martin in the ffields Saith that on the Twenty Sixth day of July Last past she was Delivered of a female Bastard Child at the Workhouse aforesaid which Child from the Birth thereof to the Death was chargeable to the said parish of St Martin in the ffields Which was to the Seventh day of August And further on her Voluntary oath Saith that one George Woolley a Vintner who served his time with old Mr Croft at the Cardican head Charing Cross and Dyed about Six months ago had sometime in or about the Month of October Last past Carnall knowledge of her Body at the house of known by the Sign of the Roe Buck at Charing Cross aforesaid on a Bed in a Room 2 pair of Stairs forwards and Severall times afterwards at the Same place at which or one of which times he did beget on her Body the said ffemale Bastard And that he the said George Woolley was the true and only ffather thereof and no man Else Sworn the Day and year above written Before
