Examination TextElizabeth Hill in the workhouse aged abt 37 years past from Saint Paul Covent Garden on her oath saith she is the widow of Hercules Hill a Gardiner who died upwards of Six years ago to whom she was married at the ffleet 14 years agoe Saith he never was an Apprentice or a yearly hired Servant and that he never kept house to her knowledge Saith she hath heard he was born at Windsor saith she since the decease of her husband kept house in Red Lyon Court being a Coffee House in the parish of Saint Martin in the fields upwards of two years and an half and paid 15£Pr Ann Rent and that she left the Same about two years and an half since and that she since took a House in plumbtree Court in Shoe Lane in the parish of St Andrew Holborn of one Mr Greenhill a Quaker who lived in the said Court and that she agreed to pay Eleven pounds by the year Rent and that she continued in the said House abt one quarter of a year when she removed by night for fear her Landlord should seize her Goods having contracted for a year and a Quarters warning that she paid about forty shillings in part of Rent and her Landlord afterwards arrested her on account of the Rent and that she never kept house or rented ten pounds Pr Ann Since Saith she hath no Children liveing Sworn the 21st day of June 1733 before Saml Grey Elizabeth Hill
