Examination TextElizabeth Oliphant aged about 37 Years Lodging in the Hop Garden in Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the ffields Saith she was never Married was bound an Apprentice by Indenture by the Trustees of the Charity School of this Parish to one Martha Kirk Quilter & Mantuamr then living in New Round Court in the Parish aforesaid for Three years & Served that time there Accordingly Since the Expiracon of which she never was a yearly hired Servant or an Housekeeper nor never Rented 10£ Pr Ann Saith she was on the 25th Day of December in the Year 1730 last past delivered of a ffemale Bastard Child at her abovesaid Lodging since Christened Christian & that one George Cummin a Taylor now living at MOrtlake in the County of Surry had Carnell Knowledge of her body at her Lodging in ffeathers Alley St Martins Lane up 2 prs of Stairs forwds on her bed there in the Month of April in the sd yrs 1730 & Several times afterwards at one of wch times he begat on her Body the said ffemale Bastard Child and that the sd George Cummin is the true & only ffar thereof and no man Else Jurat 28 die Augusti Anno Dom 1731 Coram Nobis Rob Stiles Eliz Oliphant
