Examination Text | The Examination of Eliz Jones taken on oath this 22d day of May Anno Dom 1728. Who on her oath Saith she was neverr married, was a yrly hired Servt to one of Mrs Ward in Cecill Street in this Parish wth whom she lived a year & a Quarter had £5 Pr Ann Wages Diet & Lodging & came from thence abt 3 weeks agoe Saith she was delivered of a Male Bastard Child on Thursday the 9th Day of this Instant May in the Workhouse of the Parish of St Martin in the ffields since Christened William she further upon her Oath Saith that One William Cantwell had Carnall Knowledge of her Body Sometime in the Month of July last at her sd Mistress's house in her Bed in the Garret forwards where he lay with her and twice afterwards in the sd Bed at one of which ttmes he begat on her Body the sd Male Bastard Child & that he the said William Cantwell is the true and only Father thereof & no Man Else |
