Examination Text | The Examination of Sarah Sabrick aged 36 years lodging at the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken upon oath this 19th Day of December 1760. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is the widow of Richard Sabrick (who died about one year and half ago), And this Examinant further saith that she was on the 18th Day of October last delivered of a female bastard child (since christened Ann) in the workhouse aforesaid yet living and become chargeable to the said Parish, and that Thomas Curtis and Gardiner who lives with his Father a Gardiner near the Brown Bear about a quarter of a mile beyond Kent Street in Kentish Road in the County of [?] did beget on her body the said female bastard child, and that he the said Thomas Curtis is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before Thomas Balack. |
