Examination TextSusanna Jewit aged about 44 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Dunstan in East London upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Jewit (who died three weeks ago) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St. James Westminster about 14 years ago, that her said husband before his intermarriage and while single was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of a Footman to Mr Westby in First Scotland Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of 12 years at the yearly wages of 7 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same at his intermarriage with this Examinant, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes, that she hath three children living by her said husband to wit William aged 10 years, Elizabeth aged eight years and John aged two years all now with this Examinant. Sworn the 17th Day of June 1765 before Peter Planck.
