Examination TextLeonard Dumbleton aged near 51 years (with his wife and four children passed from St Brides London) saith he was married to Elizabeth his wife at the sign of the Hand and Pen against the Rose and Crown near the Fleet Market about 19 years ago and has four children by her to wit William aged about 14 years, never bound apprentice or a yearly hired servant, Henry upwards of 10 years, Leonard four years and John born two days after last Michaelmas, that he this Examinant was bound an apprentice by indenture for seven years to his Father Leonard Dumbleton, a Spattersdash Maker who kept house in Cross Lane by Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields where and with whom he served all his said apprenticeship which expired about 28 years ago, hath not kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or been a yearly hired servant since his time expired.
