Examination TextRichard Kentish aged 31 years in the workhouse saith he is by trade a Coachmaker and was bound apprentice by indenture for seven years to Mr John Cowell, a Coachmaker against the George Inn in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields whom he there served six years of his said apprenticeship, that then his master dying he was turned over to one Mr. Henry Wright of the same trade and lived in the same house of his first master in Long Acre aforesaid where and with whom he served all the remainder of his said apprenticeship which expired 10 years ago, that he was married to Mary his late wife who died near four years ago at St Anne's Church about a month before his apprenticeship expired, that ihis wife when he married her was a servant to Mr Wright and that they continued to lodge in the same house after their marriage some time but how long can't remember, and then upon some disagreement twixt him and his master he this Examinant took lodgings next door to the Sun Tavern in Holles Street in the Parish of St Clement Danes where he lodged a fortnight and then his time expired and worked all the Daytime at his Master's in Long Acre aforesaid, hath one child by his said wife to wit Mary aged about nine years.
