Examination TextJames Smith aged 67 years removed as Vagabond from the Parish of St. Peter the great in Worcester saith upon his oath that he never was married nor bound an apprentice never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes, that he was a yearly hired servant to John Hayes, a Victualler at the Angel and Globe in Cecil Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and he there served the space of one year and an half, had 4 pounds yearly wages diet and lodging and was impressed the said in the army in the reign of the late Queen Anne, and therein continued until after the rebellion at Presteign [sic] and had no pension or other means to support himself. Sworn [blank]. [In the margin:] Inquiry was made in the neighbourhood and nothing appeared against the truth of this. D.G.
