Examination TextEdward Brice aged 57 years in the workhouse removed from St Giles in the Fields saith he was born in Northamptonshire, that he was bound an apprentice by indenture for five years to Mr Edward Smith, Oylman &c., who kept the house Mr Brown now keeps in Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex and whom there served two years and a half and then enlisted himself a soldier and remained till the expiration of his said apprenticeship which expired about 35 years ago, since which he hath never kept house rented £10 per ann. paid any parish taxes or been a yearly hired servant, that he was married to May, his wife, at a publick house in the ffleet four years ago and hath one child by her to wit Sarah aged two years and three quarters, with his wife who lodges in Parker's Lane in St Giles's.
