Examination TextElizabeth Stent aged 23 years removed from St Giles in the Fields saith she is the wife John Stent (gone from her about 14 weeks and where he is now knoweth not), that she was married to him at the ffleet by Mr Wyatt five years ago, that her said husband was never bound an apprentice but follows the business of a Painter which he learnt of one Mr Sears, a Jew in Prescot Street Goodman's Fields in the Parish of St. Mary at Whitechapel and lodged all the time he was learning of the said Mr Sears with his Father John Stent, who was a Painter and lived in Earls Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, kept house of 20 pounds by the year rent and upwards which he rented several years, and from thence into Mercer Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there kept house of 10 pounds by the year rent for the space of seven years or thereabouts and quitted that house about two years ago, that since which he never rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes, and that her said husband John Stent kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes bound an apprentice a yearly hired servant, that she hath two children by him namely John aged near four years, now or late with him, and William aged about nine weeks with her this Examinant.
