Examination TextSarah Sampson aged 27 years in the workhouse being removed from the Parish of St. Mary le Bone saith she is the widow of Richard Sampson (who hath been dead about four years) and whom she was married at the sign of the Hand and Pen in the Fleet (but by whom or in what part thereof knows not) four years ago and hath never a child by him, that her said husband was bound apprentice by indenture for seven years and served the same to Mr Cox, a Coach Wheeler in Long Acre, which time expired about half a year after she married him, he went to lodge with this Examinant at her father's the corner of Swallow Street in Tyburn Road for six weeks, then they removed land odged in King Street by Golden Square where they lodged two months, that he used go to work of days as she believes but where and with whom she knows not, and that he never rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes, that she this Examinant hath not kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or been a yearly hired servant since his death.
