Examination Text | Mary Gold aged near 31 years (in the workhouse removed by a vagrant pass from the Parish of Wisbech St Peter's in the Isle of Ely) saith she is the wife of Charles Gold, a Marine in General Wolfe's Regiment of Marines to whom she was married at Hallych Church near Sutton St. James in Lincolnshire three years ago and hath one child by him (to wit) Robert aged two years, that her said husband is by trade a Shoemaker and served his time in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, but to whom or in what part knows not and never heard or how long it is since his time expired, and that he never kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant.
