Examination TextMary Goan aged about 19 Years Saith She was never married never bound an Appren Nor never was a yearly hired Servant and that she never kept house Saith she was born in Kinastons Alley in Bedford Bury Saith her father kept house in ffeathers Alley in St Martins Lane and paid about £9 or £10 Pr Ann rent & paid to the Scavenger but not to the poor & that he left the Same about 5 yeares agoe Saith her father was born in the Isle of Man but where knows not And that She believes he never was an Apprentice nor never kept any Other than the above said house Saith she was on the 14th day of August last brought to bed of a ffemale Bastd Child And that one James Gufoe footman to Coll Bing abt 2 months before Christmas last had the Carnallknowledge of her body at the Red Lyon Inn in Castle Street in this parish in a Room up two pair of Stairs in a Bed there and Severall times after at the said Inn at one of which time he begat her with Child of the sd ffemale Bastard Child and further saith that the sd James Gufoe is the true and only ffather thereof and no man
