Examination TextThe Examinacon of Elizabeth Griffin Singlewoman taken on oath this 10th day of Augst 1727. Who on her Oath Saith That she is abt Twenty five years of age That She never kept house was a yearly hired Servt to one Mr Mason a Coach Painter in Monmouth Court in Hedge Lane in the parish of St Martin in the fields with whom and where she lived upwards of one year had four pounds Pr Ann Wages and left that Service about Six years ago and never lived a year in any one Service Since She further on her oath Saith She is great with Child And that one John Green a Coachman had Carnall knowledge of her Body about Twelve months Since upon a Bed in a Room over a Coach house belonging to Mr Norbone in the Kings Road in Chelsea where the said John Green lay and also severall times there Since And afterwards in the Kitchen at one Mr Scotts at Wadham Green (where she lived a Servant) And one of which times he begot her with Child of a Bastard or Bastards with which She now goeth and is pregnant withall And that he the said John Green is the true and only father thereof and no Man else
