Examination TextWilliam Bawmer aged near 70 years lodging at one Mr Lyel's a Glazier in Burleigh Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith he was married to his present wife Mary at the ffleet Chapell about 50 years ago, that he was born near Hartshorne Lane in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and is by trade a Joyner and was bound apprentice by indenture to seven years to Robert Barrow a Joyner who lived in Off Alley in York Buildings in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields where and with whom he continued to serve all his said apprenticeship, which expired about half a year before marriage, since which he never kept any house or apartment of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or hath been a yearly hired servant, hath two children to wit Martha aged upwards of 30 years, the wife of Thomas Welstead a Jeweller in the Borough of Southwark, and Frances aged about 25 years, the wife of John Oliver, a Gunner on board a man of war the name thereof he hath forgot. Sworn the 18th Day of December 1742 before me James Fraser.
