Examination Text | Elizabeth Leslie singlewoman aged about 35 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she never was married, was born in Edinburgh as she has heard say and brought from thence in 1708, that she never was apprenticed, that about [blank] ago she was a yearly hired servant to Mrs Sutton in Johnson's Court Charing Cross t 4 pounds per ann. meat drink washing and lodging, served under that hiring for the space of two years or thereabouts, [blank] to Mr Haines in Church Court, did not stay a year out but returned to Mrs. Sutton again and there served her two or three years more at [the same] wages, came thence four or five years ago and never was a yearly hired servant or rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes.
