Examination TextJohn Thomas Webb aged 34 years and upwards now in the workhouse belonging to and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he was married to Ann his wife over a brandy shop over against the Dial at the Fleet five or six months ago, that is a Carver by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to John Ellis, a Carver who lived in the corner of Bedford Street in King Street Covent Garden whom he there served half a year, then his master removed into Hart Street opposite the White Hart Inn where he served a year and an half more, when his master moved into Black Boy Alley in Long Acre and there he served the remainder of his time which expired about 16 years ago, has no child.
