Examination TextCatherine Grimes aged 79 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith she is the widow of James (who has been dead about 26 years) to whom she was married at St Mary Magdalen's Church about 30 years ago, that he never was bound apprentice never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year or was a yearly hired servant, that he was born in Scotland but what particular part knows not, that she has no child, that since his death she was a yearly hired servant to one Mr Saunders a Fruiterer in Durham Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one whole year and upwards at the yearly wages of 3 pounds besides diet and lodging, that she quitted the same about two years ago and never was a yearly hired servant afterwards, and further that since he her said husband's death she has not intermarried with any other Person. Sworn [the 18th Day of March 1745].
