Examination TextRebecca Pain aged upwards of Sixty Years Lodging at Mrs Hawkins's a Cook's Shop in Salisbury Street, Saith she is the Widow of Thomas Pain who died upwards of 20 Years since That she was Married to him at the Parish Church of St: Katharine by the Tower upwards of 40 Years agoe Saith when King James was Crowned she was a yearly hired Servant to one Mrs Tracey in James Street in the Parish ofSt Paul Covent Garden, then being a Singlewoman, that they kept house in Lumley Court in the Strand about ffour Years, paid £10 Pr Ann Rent and Parochial Taxes, left the same House upwards of 20 years since and her said Husband or she never hired or Rented any house afterwards, or Rented £10 by the Year or paid any Parochial Taxes to any Parish since but hath Lodged in this Parish ever since, Saith her aforesaid Husband Served his Apprenticeship in the House wherein Mr Cook the Grocer now liveth in the Strand, That she never was Married or a yearly hired Servant since her said Husband died hath one Son Thomas Pain aged about thirty years Married & his Wife is ready to lie in
