| Examination Text | The Examination of Mary Warren Single woman taken on Oath this first day of November Anno Dom 1726. Who on her Oath saith that she is now at Yearly hired servant to one. Mr Richard Legge in Castle Street in this Parish with whom she has lived as such near a Year & an half at £3 Pr Ann Wages & Diet & Lodging She further on her Oath saith that she is great with Child and that the said Richard Legge had the Carnal knowledge of her Body at his Lodging in Castle Street aforesaid divers times where & at one of which times he begatt her with Child of a Bastard or Bastards of which she now goeth with & is pregnant off And that he the said Richard Legge is the true & only ffather thereof and no Man else |
