DescriptionThe Secretary reported That he has also examined the Case of John Thos. Davis, aged 15 years. Parents live No.* Newsome's Buildings, Curtain road. The Boy has lived in the service of Mr. Akees, a smith in Angel Alley, Long Alley - & also of Mr. Taylor, Ironmonger, of Kingsland road, from whose service he was turned away for having stolen a Watch Chain. He has since been concerned with a boy named Henry Strutt, now in the Temporary, in stealing meat from Mr. Davis, a Butcher in Spitalfields market, for which he has been tried and has suffered 4 months imprisonment in the House of Correction Cold Bath Fields. See the Minutes of Dec. 17. His mother states, that His Father a sawyer is out of work & that they are almost starved. [* No number given in text] The Secretary took the liberty of placing this Petitioner in the Temporary for one week at his own Cost.
