Clemt: Danes

Att a Generall Meeting of the Principall and other
the Inhabitants of the Parish of Saint Clement Danes
aforesaid in the Church House of the said Parish
Pursuant to Publique Notice or Warneing for that
Purpose Given in the Church of the said Parish on
Sunday the Nine and Twentieth day of this Instant
Decembr. Upon reading the State of the Case relateing
to the differences that lately happened amongst the
Parishoners concerneing the Electing Church Wardens
for the said Parish It was then by them Unanimosly
Resolved Declared and Agreed upon as foll

Whereas upon Fryday the Fifth day at Aprill last
at a Meeting of a great Number of the Inhabitants of the
parish of St Clement Danes in the Church House of the said
parish in Order to choose Church Wardens for the said pish
for this prsent Yeare One Thousand Seaven Hundred
A dispute and controversy did Arise betwixt them
concerneing the manner and method of proceedings to the
choise, of the said officers The Reverend Doctr
Gregory Hascard Deane< no role > of Windsor and Rector of the said parish
with some others of the said Inhabitants Assumeing to them Select
the Name of the Auntients or Vestrymen of the said
Parish did then alleadge that the Right of Setting Up &
Nominateing persons to Serve for the said Office of Church
Wardens for the said parish was solely in them exclusive of a
others. And that the Inhabitants of the said parish were
Obliged to choose Two out of those persons soe Sett up and
Nominated by them to be Church Wardens for the said pish
and noe other against which pretence the rest of the Inhabitant
then present being the farr greater Number did insist
upon and declare that by Law and Right the Setting up &
