to wit Catherine Hitchcock< no role > This name instance is in set 602. This set is in the group(s): MothersCD . aged about
22 years upon her Oath saith that she never was
married Rented House or paid Taxes That she
lived as a hired yearly Servant with Mr. Cox
in Boswell Court in the Parish of Saint
Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex for
Twelve Months and upwards at the yearly
wages of Eight Guineas that she hath quitted
said Service about Five Months since which
time she has not done any Act to gain a
subsequent Settlement And further this
Examinant upon her voluntary Oath saith
that she is pregnant with Child or Children
which is or are likely to be born a Bastard or
Bastards and to become Chargeable to the
said Parish That one John Dowham< no role > who is Clerk
to the said Mr. Cox is the father thereof he
having had carnal knowledge of this
Examinants Body sometime in or about the
Month of August last and at several times
since at one of which times he did beget the said
Bastard Child or Children of which she is so pregnant
and that the said John Dowham< no role > is the only real and
true father thereof.
