Saint Clement Danes

Middlesex

to wit Mary Kain< no role > aged about 24 years upon
her Oath saith That she never was married that
she lived as a hired yearly Servant with Mr. Leigh in
Beauford Buildings in the Parish of Saint Clement
Danes in the County of Middlesex for Two years that she
quitted her said Service about Three Months ago and
since which time has done not any Act Matter
or Thing to gain a Subsequent Settlement And
further this Examinant upon her Oath saith that
on the Ninth day of November last she was delivered
of a Female Bastard Child in Store Street Lyingin
Hospital which has never been baptized That one
Thomas Higgins< no role > who is Servant to Sir Nicholas Lawes< no role >
in Pall Mall and is at present at out of Town is the
Father thereof he having had Carnal knowledge
of this Examinants Body sometime in or about the
Months of February or March last and at several
times since at one of which times he did beget the
said Bastard Child of which she was so delivered
as aforesaid and that the said Thomas Higgins< no role > and
no one else did beget the same and that he is the
only real and true father thereof
