The Examination of Martha Pearce< no role > Singlewoman
lodging in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the
County of Middx taken the 20th- Day of January
1740 Who upon her Oath saith that about 5 Years
ago she was bound an Apprentice to one Mr. Moore
of the Parish of St. Mary Le Strand in the sd.
County of Middx Victualler & served him as an
Apprentice for the Space of 3 Years & upwards, and
further upon her Oath saith that She hath not
since that time rented £10 a Year pd. Parish
Taxes lived with any other Person as a Yearly
hired Servt. for the Space of one Year or otherwise
gain'd a Settlement in any other Place to her
knowledge or beleife & being Poor is not able to
maintaine herselfe.
