Eleanor Thoroughgood< no role > aged about thirty Years on her
bath says she is the Widow of Joseph Thoroughgood< no role > who
has been Dead upwards of Eight Years and by whom she
hath no Children now living Says that being a Widow &
without Child or Children she has lived as a hired Yearly
Servant with Mr. Holloway at the Crown and Anchor
Tavern Strand in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the
Co. of Middlesex for three Years or thereabouts at the Yearly
Wages of £7 and is now obliged to quit her place And furr.
upon her Voluntary Oath says she is pregnant with Child
or Children which is or are likely to be born a Bastard or
Bastards and to become chargeable to the said Parish of
St. Clement Danes she being poor and unable to maintain
the same when born says that one Edward Hopley< no role >
Apprentice to Mr. Holloway her sd. Master is the Father
thereof he having had Carnal Knowl of her Body
sometime in the Month of May last but the partlar
Days she does not now remember & at sevl. difft. times
afterwds. at one of wch times he got her with Child of the
Child or Children of which she is now pregnant as afsd. &
that the said Edwd. Hopley< no role > & no or. person did beget the
same & that he is the real & true Father thereof
