Informations touching the death of Sarah Thomas< no role > in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square 23. July 1787 .

Margaret Parrett< no role > Wife of William Parrett< no role > Victualler at the Sign of the Royal
Exchange in Adams Mews in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square saith
that Sarah Thomas< no role > (Wife of Sampson Thomas< no role > ) as deponent believes) lodged
on the second Floor in Deponents House and lodged there before Deponent came
to the House being about four Months, says that about a Month ago she heard the
Deced and her Husband have Angry words one Morning soon After Mr Thomas
came home (the Deced having been drinking that Morng. and was addicted to
Drinking) says that the Husband went out and the Deced soon after called for a
Pint of Beer as Depot. thinks which Dept. carried up to the Deced who was crying
and on asking what was the Matter Deced said that Mr. Thomas had therein or
pushed her down and shew'd Deponent her Knee, the Men being grazed, Says the
about 5 o Clock last Saturday (July 21) Mr. Thomas came home and went at
stairs That about six OClock Mr. Thomas came down and desired Dept. to go up
stairs upon which she went with him and saw the Deced sitting upon the floor
with her head leaning down wards, her upper Petticoat being upon the Floor
near the Fire place and a Roll which Deced used to near on her Head in the
Grate the Deced having no Stockings on the Deced was speech less and afterward
to be insensible, Says that the Husband lifted her up and of fell backward
upon the floor, and her head went with some Fore upon the Floor tat Mr
Thomas said the Deced had Pawned his things and he had not [..] Street to put on
there being two Duplicated on the Table, says that the thought Deced was in a
fit and observed that Both her Knees were Bruised and Black That Mr. Thomas
lifted Deced upon the Red and soon after went away and desired Dept. to gown
to Deced in half an hour, Says that she went in about an Hour and found the
Deced [..] upon the Red Speechless and insensible as Dept. thought. That
some time after Dept. went up again and sent for an Apothecary who beld the
Deced Says that about 12 O Clock Mr. Thomas came home, and Dept. told him
that his wife was dying, to which he replied let her die and be damned but
he went to fetch a Woman to sit up with the Deced and appeared to be much
concerned and cried says that the Deced died Yesterday Morning between
Eight and Nine OClock as dept. was informed Says that she peard no noise
or disturbance in Deceds Room between the Hours of 5 and 6 OClock last
Saturday
Charleswood Apprentice to Mr. Perry an Apothecary in Mount Street sack
That on Saturday Evening last a little before Eleven Dept. was desired to go to
Bleed a Person who was ill in Adams Mews upon which he went found the
Deced lying upon a Bed, motionless and insensible says that he was there
informed that the Deced was a Drunken Woman and had been Drinking says
that he bled the Deced who at first bled freely but afterwards very little and
Dept thought that the Deced was in and Apoplectic fit owing to Drinking and
Dept. thinks that the Deced had been Drinking from the Appearance says that
he observed no Marks of Violence upon the Deceds Arms or elsewhere says
that he sent a Medicine to the Deced on Saturday Night of which she took
a little as Dept. was informed, And that the Husband fetched him again
Yesterday Morning, but Deced only could not then take any Medicine
