Informations taken this Twenty first
day of July 1787 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty of Westmr.
in the County of Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Elizabeth Hughes< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty and
County.

Martha Todd< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Ellison in
Down Street in the Parish of St. George Hanover
Square Spinster on his Oath saith That she
has known Elizabeth Hughes< no role > the Deced many
Years, who lived with Thomas Penny< no role >
at Mr. Collingwood in Bright Street in the
same Parish Says that on Wednesday last
on being informed that the Deced was very ill
Dept. went to her Apartment to see her, when
she appeared to be very ill, but sensible
having a Fever and was in several Fits
Complaining of a pain in her rightside
but did not say that it was caused by any
hurt that she had reced from any Person
Says that she helped to Dress the Deced on
Thursday Morning and to carry her into
the Adjoyning Court (called May's Buildings )
the Deced being very weak and unable to
Walk, Says that Thos. Penny< no role > gave Dept. a
Shilling with which Dept. bought some Mutton
and Oral Deced some Broth of which Deced
drank two Basons Says that Deced sat about
three hours in the Buildings and drank
a Pivit of Beer and and a Pint of half in half
Says that Deced was carried down Stairs
sat some time by the Fire and was then helped
into Bed, afterwards grew insensible, had
several Fits and died about a Quarter after
One o'Clock Yesterday Morning Says that she
afterwards helped to lay the Deced out, and that
