and appeared to be uneasy and the Landlord turned him out of the House near two
O Clock Says that Carter did not then appear to be much in Liquor Says that he
does not know where Carter went from thence

Mary Harfield< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Curries or the Second Floor on her Oath saith that
on Wednesday Evening last about half past Ten she saw the Deceased in her Shop
and spoke to her some Minutes when Deceased appeared to be very well and said
That her husband was out which he often used to be Says that she does not know whether
Mr. Carter came home that night or not nor did she hear any noise or Disturbance
in the House that night says that the Deceased has not been seen since Wednesday
night last alive and that Deponent this day saw her in the Water Tub there being
no water therein, Deponent drew Water out of it Yesterday and the Cock being bent
so that some of the Water run out of the Tub Says that Mr. Carter came home Yesterday
Evening about Eight O Clock being in Liquor, came up Stairs and asked Deponent if
she had see his Wife and upon Deponents saying that she had not he said if ever
she came there he would cut off her Hands and Legs Says that Mr. Carter came in
again about half after Eleven last night rather in Liquor and said that he would
fasten the Doors, That she heard him some time below but cannot say whether he
went into Bed or not Mr. Carter saying that he was sleepy and that he could never
Sleep when he was out Says that Mr. Carter in the Evening told her that his Wife
and he were going to be parted several times and now they were parted and that he
would Marry Deponent tomorrow with all his Heart and Deponent says that the
Deceased went away from her Husband for 4 Days some time ago

Mary Gray< no role > a Lodger to Mr Carter in Mr Curries House on her Oath saith
that she saw the Deceased in her shop on Wednesday Evening last about half
past Eight OClock who told Deponent that Mr. Carter was out Says that she does
not know whether Mr. Carter came home that Nighter not nor did she hear
any noice or Disturbance in the House that night Says that she often heard
Mr. Carter Scold the Deceased but never knew that he struck her
