An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at Tothill Fields Bridewell in the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty fifth day of January in the twenty sixth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman, Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on

the Oath of

< no role > , and James Randall< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said Charles Price< no role > not having the Fear
of God before his Eyes but being moved and seduced by the instigation of the Devil
on the Twenty fifth day of January in the Year aforesaid, with Force and Ann
at the Parish aforesaid, within the Liberty and County aforesaid, in and upon
himself in the Peace of God and of our said Sovereign Lord the King then and there
being Feloniously wilfully and of his Matice aforethought did make an Assault and
that the said Charles [..] One End of a certain price of small Cord, of no Value
unto certain Gimlets and Brass Screws then and there fixed in the Wainscot of a Room
in Tothill Fields Bridewell (wherein the said Charles Price< no role > was then and there
Prisoner in Custody Charged with Felony) and the other End thereof about his own
Neck did Fix tye and fasten and therewith did then and there hang Suffocate and
strangle himself of which said hanging Suffocation and Strangling he
the said Charles Price< no role > did then and there die. And so the Jurors
aforesaid, upon their Oath aforesaid, do say,That the said Charles
Price
< no role > in manner and by the Means aforesaid, Feloniously wilfully and of
his Malice aforethought did kill and murder himself against the Peace of
our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity and that the said Charles Price< no role >
at the Time of the committing the Felony and Murder aforesaid had no goods or
Chattels Lands or Tenements within the said Liberty or elsewhere to the
knowledge of the said Jurors.

In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said Michael Castleden< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf ofhis
himself and the rest of his Fellows in their Presence, have to this Inquisition
set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place abovementioned
