day of January 1786 at Tothill Fields
Bridewell in the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the
County of Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Adam Head< no role >
a Prisoner there lying dead

Thomas Fitzgeral< no role > a Prisoner in Tothill
Fields Bridewell on his Oath saith that he
has been Prisoner there about five Months
Says that Adam Head< no role > the Deced was brought
to said Prison about a fortnight ago,
both Legs being swelled, and having very
few Cloaths about him, Says that the Deced
always Complained of the Cold the Weather
being very severe Says that the Deced
was Confined in the same Ward with
this Deponent and that on Friday Night
East (the Thirtieth of December) the Deced
was talking aloud, but Dept. could not
understand him, and afterwards was
silent for about an hour, when Dept. had
occasion to make Water, he got up and
found the Deced dead, being then about
One o'Clock on Saturday Morning the
thirty first of December, Says that the
Deced was not ill used by any Person
in the Prison, and that the Deced had
every day his Allowance from the Governor
and was able to Eat it, and Dept. believes
that the Deced died by the Inclemency of
the Weather.
