Informations taken this Twenty sixth
day of October 1781 at the Parish of St.
Paul Covent Garden within the City & Liberty of
Westmr. in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition touching the death of George
[..] Orton
< no role > lying dead in the Ph and Liberty
and County aforesaid.

Henry Bainbridge< no role > one of the Beadles of the
Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden on his
Oath saith, That About ten Minutes after Six
o'Clock this Morning Dept was informed in
the Whitehouse by one of the Watchman that
a Man lay dead in the Garden, Says, that
he went there and in Covent Garden within
the Wooden Rails he saw the Deced lying
upon his Rightside upon the Ground
between some Baskets or Hampers, Says
that the Deced was dead but not quite
Cold, Says that a great Quanity of Matter
came from his Mouth, and Dept. beliaves
that the Deced was Suffocated.

Griffiths Surgeon of Bedford Street on his Oath
saith That he has this day Examined the Body
of the Deced and found no Marks of violence
thereon,

saith That he has worked a few days at Mr.
Ryder' a Hair Dresser in Tooley Street
Southwark , That George [..] stong the Deced
also Worked there, and that they worked they
together Yesterday Misfortune, That a little after
two o'Clock they went together from their
Master
