Informations taken this Nineteenth
day of October 1781 at the Parish of Saint
Martin in the Fields within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Middlesex upon
an Inquisition touching the death of
John Legg< no role > lying dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

John Seal< no role > Horsekeeper to Mr. George Bolton< no role >
at the Golden Cross. Charing Cross in the Parish
of St. Martin in the Fields on his Oath saith
That John Legg< no role > the Deced has usually for
several Months last past Stept at might
in a Hayloft of Mr. Bolton's in said
Stable Yard, that about Quarter past
Nine o'Clock last Night Deced went out
of the Taproom there, saying that he was
going to his Lodging That in about twenty
Minutes after Dept. was in one of the Stable
in said Yard, when he heard some Earthen
Ware fall down upon the Pavement near
the Place where Deced slept, That a Boy
was then there Watering a Horse, and
immediately went away, Says that he
went there and found a Chamber pot
and the Deced lying down in the Yard
near the feet of the Ladder, Says that the
Deced bled a little from the back part of
his Head and was not able to speak, and
died in about two Minutes Says that
there was no Person in the Hayloft with
Deced, and Dept. believes that the Deced
Accidentally fell out of the Hayloft.
